Gameplay Mechanics

Port Royal is built on a thrilling push-your-luck mechanic and unfolds in two main phases:

1. Discovery Phase: You flip cards from the deck to reveal the harbor's offerings. You can keep going as long as you dare, but be careful! If two ships of the same color dock in the harbor and you can't fend them off with your sailors, you bust and lose your entire turn.

2. Trading & Hiring: If you stopped in time, you get to claim cards. Ships fill your coffers with gold, while characters like Admirals, Governors, or Mademoiselles grant you special abilities and vital influence points.

The goal is to be the first to reach 12 influence points through clever hiring and successful expeditions.
