The Protected Birds memory game presents a selection of 24 species of birds that are protected in nature. This includes not only species common in Central Europe but also some rarer types that captivate with their colourfulness and shape. Each card features a detailed watercolour illustration complemented by the bird's name in both Czech and Slovak, as some names differ between the two languages.

Delicate Watercolour Technique The author of the memory game is Katarína Vargová, a Slovak artist and nature lover who created all the illustrations using watercolour. This delicate technique captures the naturalness of the feathers, the light, and the environment in which the birds live. Some paintings were created based on the author's own photographs taken during observation in nature.

Educational Value The Protected Birds series is part of the educational memory games from the PexOesa project. The goal is not only to train memory but also to foster interest in nature, species recognition, and understanding their importance to the ecosystem. Each motif can thus be an impetus for a discussion about why certain species are protected.

Due to its artistic quality, educational value, and bilingual descriptions, the memory game is suitable for children, schools, ornithological clubs, and anyone who appreciates nature and fine art. A book featuring the same illustrations, complemented by stories and interesting facts about these feathered creatures, is also planned for the coming months.
