Art Robbery (EN) - party game

Product detailed description

Art Robbery is a fast card game by Reiner Knizia for 2–5 art thieves who, after a successful heist, must divide the loot among themselves – all while securing enough alibis to stay ahead of the police.

How to play: The game is played over four rounds (raids) – Sketches, Sculptures, Antiquities and Paintings. Each player starts with a hand of 5 cards. On your turn, play one card from your hand onto the discard pile and take the matching loot tile: a number card (0–5) lets you take the tile with the same number from the middle, or steal it from another player if none remain in the middle. Special cards work differently – a Guard Dog card gives you the dog figure (protecting you from being stolen from), a Greedy Thief card lets you take any tile of your choice from the middle (but can't be used to steal from players), and a Boss card gives you the valuable Boss tile, which you only get to keep at the end of the round if you also hold a 4 or 5 value tile from the same raid. End your turn by drawing a card to refill your hand back to five.

Some tiles carry white dots – Alibis. Collect as many as you can, because the player with the fewest Alibis gets caught by the police at the end of the game and is eliminated (in a two-player game, they lose some loot instead). After the fourth raid, players tally points from their tiles (a Boss tile is worth 5 points) and whoever has the most points wins – ties are broken by the number of Alibis.
