Uwe's legendary production wheels return after eleven years! Following the debut in Glass Road (2013), the designer takes us deep into the woods of the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), where glassworks emerged as early as the 13th century. Around these glassworks, small settlements of glassmakers, charcoal burners, and potash producers sprang up. Wood was an essential resource for glass production, allowing workshops to move across the region. Abandoned glassworks were eventually transformed into farms, reshaping the Schwarzwald landscape.

In Black Forest, you take on the role of a farmer managing a small estate in the heart of the Schwarzwald. Your mission is to expand your land, construct buildings, establish pastures, ponds, and fields, and raise livestock. As you travel through villages, you seek out master craftsmen who help you build and produce. But beware—other players may block key craftsmen before you reach them.

The core strategic element of the game revolves around the use of two production wheels, which help you manage resources and plan your production. Some resources are automatically processed the moment you acquire them, so careful planning is crucial.

Upgrade your glassworks to gain additional space for expanding your estate and constructing new buildings. The right combination of buildings will grant you advantages and unlock multiple paths to victory. Thanks to a wide variety of double-sided buildings and their unique effects, each game presents new strategic opportunities.
