ANTS (CZ) is a complex strategy game for 2–4 players in which you lead an ant colony locked in an endless struggle for dominance over the garden. Being an ant is no easy task – but that's exactly what makes it so compelling.

At the start of the game, each player receives a unique queen tile that will shape their strategy throughout the entire game. Three sets of development tiles determine the life cycle of your colony: eggs hatch into larvae, larvae grow into ants – and those ants become the backbone of your kingdom. Every ant has its specialization: diggers expand the anthill, scouts conquer new territories in the garden, and gatherers collect the resources needed for survival and growth.

On your turn, you choose one of six main actions. By digging, you place room tiles into your nest and try to fill entire areas, earning stars – the primary source of victory points. Scouting sends your ants into the hexagonal garden terrain, revealing enemies and generating resources. Gathering builds networks of collector ants that automatically harvest food, leaf, and mushroom cubes from neighbouring hexes. Playing cards activates powerful combinations from over 150 unique cards divided into three types – skill cards, deed cards, and room cards. And by defeating enemies, you unlock abilities on your insert board that open up entirely new strategic possibilities.

A key element of the game is the pheromone system – when your gatherers fully exhaust a resource hex, you release a pheromone trail that brings bonuses and can lead to additional stars. The nuptial flight track then offers another path to victory points through swarming. Stars can be earned in three different ways: by building your nest, through pheromones, and by completing deeds – each method offering up to three stars.

The winner isn't the most aggressive player, but the most clever one. There are many paths to victory: masterful nest architecture, dominating the garden through scouting and gathering, efficient colony growth, or tactical card play. ANTS rewards long-term planning, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to your opponents.
