The drums are beating, builders are heading to work, and the first armies are gathering before the walls. Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid – Village Edition translates the famous mobile strategy game into a tabletop experience where you'll build, mine, recruit troops, and raid your opponents.

The game is designed for 2–4 players aged 12+, with a single session taking roughly 60–90 minutes. The rules are built around a clear sequence of five game phases, so even players who mainly know Clash of Clans from their phone will quickly find their footing. More experienced players will appreciate planning the order of actions, developing the Town Hall, laying out their own village, and timing their attacks carefully – and since the game is highly interactive, opponents can set your buildings on fire or damage your defenses.

You start small: a tiny village, a few builders, basic troops, and a Town Hall you'll gradually upgrade. Each round moves through five phases: mining, builder actions, village scoring, extinguishing fires, and finally discounts and market refresh. In the mining phase you collect gold, elixir, and gems based on the buildings you've constructed – gold pays for new buildings, elixir recruits troops and upgrades the Town Hall, while gems act as a flexible substitute for either resource.

The heart of each round is sending your builder figures to the central game board: building and recruiting, claiming the first-player advantage, upgrading the Town Hall, constructing defenses, or – most importantly – raiding. Building cards form your own village, boosting production, granting bonus abilities, or earning stars at scoring, while walls, cannons, archer towers, and wizard towers protect your most valuable structures.

During a raid you send troops into your opponent's village and resolve the attack in waves using attack and defense dice – archers can snipe defensive buildings, giants smash neighboring defenses, the dragon flies over walls, and P.E.K.K.A can move to a new target after a successful attack. Damaged buildings start burning and stop providing their usual benefits until extinguished, while a successful attacker gains resources and stars. The game ends once a player reaches at least 40 stars at scoring – the clan with the most stars wins.

The board game was developed by Maestro Media in collaboration with Supercell, creator of the original mobile game. It was designed by game designers Eric M. Lang (Blood Rage, Rising Sun, Marvel United) and Ken Gruhl (Happy Salmon, Life in Reterra), with art direction by Nate Weisman and graphic design by Peter Wocken.
