Memoir '44 Refresh (EN)

Product detailed description

Memoir '44 (Refresh) is the new edition of the iconic historical game in which you command troops through dynamically recreated battles of World War II – from the Normandy landings and Pegasus Bridge to Operation Cobra and the Battle of the Bulge. The game includes 22 scenarios and a double-sided hex game board, letting you play out both beach landings and inland combat; each scenario faithfully recreates the terrain, unit placement and objectives of both sides.

How to play: Players command their troops using Command Cards, which determine which sections of the battlefield (left flank, center, right flank) can be ordered to move or attack on a given turn. Ordered units – infantry, tanks, artillery and resistance fighters – then move and attack by rolling battle dice marked with special symbols. Tactic cards let you pull off special actions outside the normal rules and turn the tide of battle. The side that first meets the scenario's victory conditions wins – usually by earning a set number of medals for eliminating enemy units or capturing key objectives.

The game is designed primarily for two players but also supports team play – in Overlord mode, up to eight players can battle it out on an expanded battlefield. The "Refresh" edition brings upgraded, more detailed miniatures made from sturdier plastic (no more bendy tank barrels or cannons), new summary cards, new activation tokens and five brand-new scenarios.

The game is in English, but thanks to clear icons and simple rules it's very accessible even without deep knowledge of the language.

Box contents: double-sided game board, 144 army miniatures (Axis and Allied), 36 obstacles, 44 double-sided terrain tiles, 60 command cards, 22 summary cards, 8 battle dice, 6 activation tokens, 2 card holders, rulebook, scenario book.
